Ante Natal Profile

The first trimester is the most crucial phase of pregnancy, and ANC profile tests are recommended during this stage. These tests help to assess the general health of the mother, along with testing for diabetes, anaemia, thyroid function and other infectious diseases like HIV, HBsAg. Thus the underlying disease can be identified early in pregnancy and treatment initiated accordingly to ensure a healthy pregnancy and delivery.

Ante Natal refers to the period of time before childbirth or during pregnancy. It specifically refers to the period from conception to the onset of labor when a woman is carrying a developing fetus. Ante Natal care focuses on ensuring the well-being of both the mother and the unborn baby through regular check-ups, tests, and monitoring.

A Complete Blood Count (CBC) test is required during Ante Natal care to evaluate the mother’s hemoglobin levels, detect anemia, monitor white blood cell count for infection, assess platelet count for potential bleeding complications, and ensure overall blood health during pregnancy.

The HIV-1 & HIV-2 Antibodies Rapid test is required during Ante Natal care to screen pregnant women for HIV infection. Early detection enables appropriate interventions to prevent mother-to-child transmission and provide necessary treatment and support for both the mother and the baby.

The Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) test is required during Ante Natal care to screen pregnant women for Hepatitis B infection. Identifying HBsAg-positive mothers helps prevent transmission of the virus to the newborn through appropriate interventions such as vaccination and medication.

The HCV antibody test is required during Ante Natal care to screen pregnant women for Hepatitis C infection. Early detection allows for appropriate medical interventions to prevent transmission to the baby and provide necessary treatment and support for the mother.

Blood sugar tests, such as the glucose challenge test, are required during Ante Natal care to screen for gestational diabetes. Detecting and managing high blood sugar levels in pregnant women is crucial for the health of both the mother and the developing baby.

The RAPID SYPHILIS TEST is required during Ante Natal care to screen pregnant women for syphilis infection. Early detection and treatment of syphilis in pregnancy can prevent adverse outcomes, such as stillbirth, congenital syphilis, or other complications for both the mother and the baby.

Thyroid profile tests are required during Ante Natal care to assess thyroid function in pregnant women. Hormonal imbalances in the thyroid can affect the health of both the mother and the developing baby, impacting metabolism, growth, and neurological development. Monitoring thyroid levels helps ensure optimal pregnancy outcomes.

Vitamin B12 and D3 tests are required during Ante Natal care to assess the levels of these essential vitamins in pregnant women. Adequate levels of B12 and D3 are crucial for the overall health of the mother and proper fetal development, including bone health and neurological function.
